Systems Engineer / Consulting Engineer

The Systems Engineer role is responsible of a combination of pre and post-sales activities as well as community interaction and thought leadership.  It will focus on architecting, implementing and maintaining availability solutions, including data protection and monitoring based on Veeam Solutions inclusive of the greater ecosystem.

 

The System Engineer is an expert in the areas of Data Management, Data Analytics, Business Continuity, Data Center, Cloud, Operating Systems, Networking, Storage, and Virtualization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exemplary customer support, understanding client business and advising them on technologies and processes to help them obtain their goals

  • Perform Assessments, Installation & Configuration, Upgrades, DR Testing, Problem Resolution & Training

  • Provide expert advice on solutions with a primary focus on Veeam Technologies

  • Follow best practices, create custom documentation

  • Provide overall project guidance (Project plans, Schedules, Communication Plans, Resource plans, Status updates, etc.)

  • Deliver onsite knowledge transfer on solutions

  • Provide sales team with solution training & positioning

  • Produce Blog, Social Media, Presentations and all forms of thought leadership

  • Mentor other Systems Engineers

  • Document configuration and collect/analyze information about the customer environment.

  • Facilitate communication between client and Vendor support

  • Identify additional needs within client’s environment that can be resolved with LTG solutions

  • Provide input for improvement of process and documentation

  • Travel to be determined but likely 50/50 on site and remote.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology required (A combination of education and experience will be considered)

  • At least two (2) years of hands-on experience with Veeam’s Core products

  • At least three (3) years of Consulting experience

  • VMCE & VMCE-A Certification (Will sponsor for qualified candidates.)

  • VMWare VCP, Microsoft MCITP highly desirable

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Experience working in the field requiring substantial travel

  • Significant experience with VMware and Hyper-V

  • Experience with disruptive storage systems and technologies

  • Hands-on experience with networking protocols and equipment (Fibre channel, Ethernet, Cloud services)

  • Experience with traditional storage and backup architectures (EMC, NetApp, IBM, HP/3PAR, Hitachi, Dell, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with Enterprise applications (Exchange, SQL, Oracle, etc.)

  • Experience with Data Management, Data Protection, Data Analytics and Cloud

  • Extensive experience with Data Center, Business Continuity and Operating Systems

  • A proven track record of success (Attitude, Competency, Activity Levels)

  • Experience successfully managing multiple simultaneous projects and accounts
